Pope affords prayer for earthquake victims in Ecuador, Peru
VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis supplied prayers Sunday for the victims of an earthquake that shook huge swaths of territory in Ecuador and elements of Peru.
Throughout his weekly Sunday midday blessing, Francis recalled that the 6.8-magnitude temblor induced “death, injuries and heavy damage.”
“I’m close to the Ecuadorean people and assure them of my prayers for the dead and suffering,” Francis stated.
Saturday’s quake killed a minimum of 15 individuals, injured a whole lot and introduced down houses and buildings in vastly totally different communities, from coastal areas to the highlands. At the least one of many deaths was in Peru.
