Nelson Mandela’s Granddaughter Clarifies Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Comments

Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter Ndileka Mandela defended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after a report that she accused them of profiting off her grandfather’s title.

The activist wrote in a brand new essay for The Unbiased that The Australian misquoted her when it reported that she was upset that Meghan and Harry have been “using” her grandfather’s title and legacy to advertise a Netflix docuseries. The collection, “Live to Lead,” was impressed by Nelson Mandela.

The Australian article is not on-line. The outlet didn’t reply to a request for remark.

Ndileka Mandela wrote in The Unbiased that she mentioned nothing of the kind.

“When people accused me recently of criticising Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for ‘profiteering’ from my grandfather’s name, I was shocked,” she wrote in a bit revealed on Saturday. “Because it was false. I had never accused Harry and Meghan of doing this.”

Mandela mentioned her phrases have been “weaponized” and “misused to attack a woman of colour who was, effectively, hounded out of the British royal family.”

“In reality, I greatly admire Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their courageous commitment to defending those less privileged than them – vulnerable people, women, and people of colour,” Mandela wrote, echoing sentiments she’s expressed in latest essays for The Atlantic and Newsweek.
