CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Soccer participant Anton Walkes, who began his profession at Tottenham, died Thursday after an accident in Florida, his MLS membership Charlotte FC stated. He was 25.
Charlotte stated in a press release Walkes handed away early Thursday morning, with out giving particulars of the accident.
The Miami Herald reported he was concerned in a collision between two boats Wednesday close to Miami Marine Stadium.
Charlotte FC proprietor David Tepper stated all on the membership had been “devastated by the tragic passing of Anton Walkes.”
“He was a tremendous son, father, partner and teammate whose joyous approach to life touched everyone he met,” Tepper stated in a membership assertion.
Walkes started his profession with English Premier League membership Tottenham and in addition performed for Portsmouth earlier than signing with Atlanta United in MLS.
He joined Charlotte for the membership’s debut MLS season in 2022.
“Anton made those around him better people in all areas of life and represented Charlotte FC to the highest standard both on and off the pitch,” Tepper stated.
