Auburn hiring Hugh Freeze as soccer coach

Auburn is bringing Hugh Freeze again to the Southeastern Convention, hiring him as this system’s subsequent soccer coach, FOX Sports activities’ Bruce Feldman confirmed Monday.

Freeze, 53, had been the pinnacle coach at Liberty from 2019-2022. He’s 34-15, taking the Flames to a few consecutive bowl video games.

Freeze will substitute Carnell “Cadillac” Williams, who took over as interim coach after the varsity fired Bryan Harsin on Oct. 31. The Tigers had been 3-5 underneath Harsin and 2-2 underneath Williams, capped by a 49-27 loss within the Iron Bowl to Alabama on Saturday. Their 5-7 mark clinches this system’s first dropping common season since 2012.

The 53-year-old Freeze was head coach at Ole Miss from 2012-2016, successful 37 video games with 4 bowl appearances. Twenty-seven of these victories had been vacated due to an NCAA investigation that discovered ineligible gamers participated in video games.

Freeze finally resigned because the Rebels’ coach after college officers found he had used a school-issued cellphone to name escort companies throughout his time as coach.
