6.2 magnitude earthquake shakes Taiwan’s east coast

TAIPEI, Taiwan — A 6.2 magnitude earthquake originating within the waters off Taiwan’s japanese coast shook the island Wednesday, however no accidents or main harm have been instantly reported.

The earthquake struck 29 kilometers (18 miles) southeast of Hualien, a metropolis on Taiwan’s east coast, the island’s Central Climate Bureau stated. The depth was 5.7 kilometers (3.5 miles).
